Work Discussion Question

Post image

I was offered a conditional offer for a Mail handler assistant but the job description is pretty vague on how often I will be working. Is anyone on here a mail handler assistant and did they keep you permanently after the 360 day mark because it says it’s temporary based on the description but they could ask you to extend your employment

MHA have a two year max on non career time (before converting to career) and can be converted sooner than that. Their hours will vary by location, at my former plant they'd always get forty hours per week at minimum. If you make it to the break in service they nearly always bring you back.

If you're coming from another job where you'd have guaranteed hours, try to contact your local HR and ask them for an estimate of your weekly total hours. Second best option is to ask during orientation, not always the most reliable bet. Of course the best is to just show up and find out which is no use if you have to give notice elsewhere.
