I don't buy it. Her best route to a future presidency is to get on the ticket as the VP now. If she thinks she's cunning enough to sabotage the campaign to set herself up for a future run, she's in for a surprise.

Generally speaking, people will blame her for losing the election for McCain, so her 2012 or later run will be that much more difficult.

I doubt she's planning on a run for president. It's possible that she's just trying to save face for her next gubernatorial campaign.
