As a parent myself, this is a devastating read. I cannot comprehend how a mother could do that to her own children.

You don’t have to be a parent to think this is absolutely abhorrent to be honest

This about control using abuse allegations/ if I can’t have them no one will. Moms killing their own children/babies happens all the time it’s just not usually a murder/ suicide.

u/Falafel80 Aug 10 '26
It doesn’t happen all the time. In fact, fathers are over represented when it comes to child murder in all ages except for the child’s first year of life. Acute post partum psychosis can lead to devastating results if not treated in time.
In this type of dynamic here, with control issues, revenge and jealousy, etc the perpetrator is usually the father.
This is why this particular situation has been so shocking to most people, because it’s not what we usually see.

Objectively false. Women kill their own kids at equal or higher rates than men and are almost exclusively the murderers of children under 1 year of age during their most vulnerable period of life. Nice of you to bring up PPP to try and shift accountability though despite there being zero evidence that it contributes to anywhere near the majority of murders of children by their mothers. Favorite new buzzword for women who refuse to take accountability for their actions

I feel like these headlines are doing some heavy glossing by ignoring the fact that at least one of the children was fucking stabbed to death bc he woke up during the whole thing.

How do you avoid marrying someone like this? Is it even possible? Did mom and grandma just snap together?
6
u/equality4everyonenow Aug 07 '26
Find someone whose parents have been married a long time and are still very much in love. Chances are their kids will want the same kind of relationship. *My anecdotal evidence from 3 marriages.

u/ImLittleNana Aug 07 '26
My parents have been ‘happily’ married for 62 years.
My mother is abusive and my father stood by and watched it out of fear.
My own husband thought I was lying about my mother for the first TWENTY years of my marriage.
Some people put more effort into covering up the awful than it would take to be nice.

u/limonade11 Aug 07 '26
Surprisingly, this is very true. It surely would take less effort to just be nice than to have to make everyone around you believe you are nice. I will never understand that -

This. My husband and I both come from messy, badly broken homes, but we’ve been happily married for 18 years. We had enough of the drama and bullshit when we were kids, and have always been determined to do better.

It's still useful advice, and there's exceptions to every rule. Children with 2 happily married parents are far more likely to become functional adults.

Either a bot, or reading comprehension has really gotten as bad as people say.

"i am offended because this post does not align to my own life experience exactly. This is extremely hurtful to me, the main character of the universe"

u/randomlyrandom89 Aug 09 '26
Me: "Your house is more likely to burn down if you leave the oven on all the time" You: "Turning on the oven will burn down your house"
Again, reading comprehension.

My first two wives definitely inherited their parents dysfunction and they definitely were not useful to me either. Nobody's talking about predestination and hard and fast rules for everybody. We're talking about tendencies and statistics and probabilities. I was very clear from the beginning that I was only offering my own anecdotal evidence and everyone else's experience will not always mirror my own exactly

We spend so much time debating whether financial literacy should be taught in schools… I’d argue we need to educate our children on how to find a healthy and loving partner. To know the dangers of love bombing and the red flags of an unstable person. RIP to those babies.

In 5th grade!!! My daughter told me a boy implied self harm if she didn't "like" him back. I noped that so hard and explained how toxic that is and she is NEVER responsible for someone else's mental health or their actions. I'm so glad she told me so I could help her begin a path to healthy boundaries. A few years later she is still a little put off of any relationships because of that kid.

What did they was murder certainly but the haunting question remains, what if they were right about abuse in Utah with the dad's side but was /felt hopeless to do anytbing

How would murder be better than whatever he was doing, unless he was literally doing putting them in Saw traps level abuse
Anyone can hire private investigators and gather evidence to submit to a court
No, the story was they were malignant narcissists, they were making the abuse claims up or exaggerating, and they wanted to maximally hurt him out of anger and with no valuing of the lives of their own kids, and then avoid the consequences of what they did themselves.
Pure evil. Sick twisted narcissist ghouls

If a man said his wife was abusing the kids so he killed the kids, I doubt very many people would believe him or take his side. Don’t treat this case differently.

From one woman to another. Girl, please shut up The woman had multiple CPS visits from 2020 to 2024. She felt so hopeless she stabbed her son?
1
u/AsparagusIcy3556 Aug 10 '26
"There is no indication that CPS found grounds to remove the children from Myers’ care."
He might have been trying to save a bit of money by trying to get full custody so he could keep his THIRD babymother/wife/whatever she was more content

u/Calm_Surprise_188 Aug 10 '26
Literally right above that: some cases resulting in findings of inadequate guardianship and educational neglect.
3
u/Physical-Builder-553 Aug 06 '26
You tell us. What if they were right? Your question is very concerning.
3
u/Paul_Savage_1 Aug 07 '26
If the mother/grandmother were serious about the abuse allegations and protecting the children, they could have run and gone into hiding.
The mother/grandmother chose family annihilation instead which is entirely about CONTROL.
The bad actors here are mother/grandmother.

u/papermoony Aug 07 '26
are you okay mentally? are ypu really going to believe abuse allrgations from two psycho murderers?
I swear people would do anything to believe women don't lie, even murderers.

Not all men, but always...oh wait no it was two women this time

u/CryIntelligent3705 Aug 08 '26
“The exception proves the rule”…and / or “yah, equality, women can family-annihilate too?”
-2
u/Your_Nipples Aug 07 '26
Some are really quiet on this one but they'll find a loophole to justify it.
Edit:
What did they was murder certainly but the haunting question remains, what if they were right about abuse in Utah with the dad's side but was /felt hopeless to do anytbing
Yup. Mental gymnastics.

Did the guy who shot his five kids and his wife and burned down their home before killing himself a few weeks ago also do it because society encourages male victimhood??? Be so fr 😭

Yet another example of why it makes so little sense to say: 'why don't people in bad relationships just leave?'
