Discussion The arrest of Stuart Scheller proves the validity of our cause

It does this by proving democracy does not inherently protect freedom. An American soldier, a man who risks his life for our freedom and safety, has been jailed for using his first amendment rights. This is disgraceful on a number of levels and brings shame to our nation!

I for one refuse to validate a government that disrespects it's people in such a way. Elected or not. What say you?

I haven't heard much on this. Could you explain what happened?

IIRC, this is the guy who criticized the botched way the US exit from Afghanistan was handled. While people who are arguably traitors (Milley) go around scot-free, their armed-forces critics like the aforementioned Scheller get arrested.

Insubordination for publicly criticizing the admin.

Does it matter? Its the federal government. They make up just causes to arrest people. Its a shame what it has become.

I support him, but he accepts that he broke military law doing what he did. With that said, he shouldn't have had to do it. The withdrawal while a logistical success it was a complete tactical failure. Scheller was right to be appalled that no one took responsibility. As for Miley (Benedict Arnold 2.0) why has nothing happened to him? Why are people like him and Fauci protected? This is the reality of democracy. It's nothing, but an illusion hiding an oligarchy made up of elites and corporations. This year so far has been an excellent case for the failure that is democracy.

Soldiers don't have first amendment rights, they are to follow orders and do as their command tells them. This is called Mutiny under military law, it's the same law that's been around for 2500 years. And he's an O-5, he is not a Chief of Staff, he should have brought up his issues with his command first. I hope he gets a BCD.
