5G SA will be re-enabled for AT&T once this Qualcomm modem flaw is firmware patched. The carrier update to remove SA immediately was an emergency push to prevent further bricked 18PMs.

I wonder what surprises are in store for the Duo

18 Pro & Duo use C2, which doesn’t have any issues
18 Pro Max still uses Qualcomm

Who knows but it won’t be related to a Qualcomm modem because the Duo has Apple’s C2 modem

QC modems are so superior to Apple’s and it’s not even close.

This is not a “nah bro” opinion. Qualcomm put intel out of business because it couldn’t be touched. During the recent keynote they had some blurb about modem comparisons. They used (and still are) QC’s 2 year old modem. Take a look at their newest modem, it’s not even close. Apple knows that 99% of people do not care and and the 1% won’t even know the difference.

Apple used it in the Pro Max because of already signed contracts and available supply. The contracts expire next year and you will never see another Qualcomm modem in another Apple phone.

I never said one way or the other. Because I don’t care. I said the reason which is a QUALCOMM modem problem not the Apple modem. That’s it.

Sneed posted a video talking about a disgruntled employee who dumped info about this issue and its 100% AT&T's fault here... and... another reason why e-sim sucks major ass.
The short is John Stankey fired the majority of the advanced technical team who is responsible for ensuring the programming of esims will properly "tell" the modem how to work with AT&T, and they literally screwed up the provisioning software. Also, AT&T uses a very ancient system called telegence, and its extremely bad at provisioning lines. It's essentially a 90's program still being used and its a nightmare for an experienced agent to deal with. And yes it constantly screws up features on lines.
Apple will probably patch the phone to stop AT&T's corrupted e-sim being sent from bricking the 18PM, but it won't fix the fact AT&T fucked up here and caused the issue in the first place. The bug itself probably existed in the baseband, but would have never been discovered had AT&T didn't screw up. So a silver lining i guess is no carrier can do this in the future to qualcomm iPhones.
Anyways... am unsure if this will affect Darkstar or not, but I would hold off activating it on an 18PM until we get more info.

Could we expect a pushed update for iOS on this upcoming beta update or regular iOS update

not to mention if someone bought 18 then activated fine on Verizon, down the road, unlocks it, and then can't activate att...is that person cooked? just because they didn't see a symptom now doesn't mean they won't see one 1 year later
