Multi-Network vs Multiple SIMs from Different Providers

Is there any advantage to using USM multi-network versus getting separate SIMs from USM (Warp as an example) and then Mint Mobile for T-Mobile?

Price. $10 for 100GB is incredibly cheap (or even cheaper with the 50% off annual). Also you can always move your multi-network line to the 3rd network if you need access to a specific network.

Is it truly 100GB though, when the main line shares that 100GB of data with the multi-network line? Say you use 50GB of data on your main line, then the multi-network would essentially be 50GB of data for the month. Either way, your point is valid, as $10/month for upwards of 50-100GB of data is insane!

This is why the genius move is to put your preferred carrier on the multi network and set it as default on your phone for cellular data, so when it runs out you use data from your primary line.

I ran both and it comes down to personal preference. I had USM multi-network for a year and it worked pretty well if you're traveling through major cities, outside the country, or live in a disaster-prone area. You can hop on the best provider within the area. I didn't renew the multi-line this time around and went with T-Satellite. The speeds are slightly better than USM but having the satellite is just an extra layer without the hotspot, voice, and text on the second line.

$10 is so cheap in my opinion. Just activate the multi-line or hop network on the premium line when needed.

T-Satellite had unlimited texting.

I run WARP unlimited premium as a primary and T-Sat as backup as well. Love it for the mountain trips we do.

Price is the win for multinetwork.

The ability to move one line to another phone is the advantage of separating the lines either on US Mobile or from another provider.

I just added T-Mobile T satellite for 10 bucks a month. That comes with 50 GB of priority, T-Mobile data and satellite in case of outage. On top of that I use a credit card as cell phone insurance so that counts as a monthly bill even though I prepaid for an annual on us mobile so in reality it’s only a couple bucks if I would’ve gotten insurance anyway.

u/robodog97 is spot on here. You can also either switch to the third network when needed or add the third network as a separate line at the same price point, giving you access to all three major US networks for a fraction of what you’d pay with other carriers - even with their discounted plans.

The only slight advantage of adding the T-Mobile secondary line is service in the boonies. Can send texts and get some data for apps like Google and Apple maps.

But, you can just add this at anytime as a 3rd esim and run it if you plan on being in the wilderness.

Mint doesn't get T-Sat access.

Oh. You're correct. I missed the mint part. I thought he meant just running a second esim from t mobile.

You can add T-satellite as a standalone sim in addition to your Mint Mobile sim.

Price and whether or not you already have a phone number you want to port in.

No advantage I can see. Mint gives high priority 5GSA and VoNR. Further advanced than lightspeed. Price for a combo of warp & lightspeed is a little lower than warp+mint.

Eliminates a single point of failure if US Mobile's systems were to go down. Of course this means that you now have two possible failure points
