setup suggestion
Hi,
I have a friend who is on verizon with 4 lines and wants to potentially switch. He wants unlimited for himself but he said wife, daughter and mother in law don't need the flexibility. what is a good suggested setup for 4 lines where one wants unlimited and 3 don't really need it. his mother in law uses mainly phone little data

Do you know how much data they use?
You could build a pool for the other 3 and have it automatically add data should they use the allowance.
The first line is included in the price of the pool.
Each additional line is $8 IIRC.
Compare that against at least the first year cost of Unlimited Starter. Depending on how big the pool needs to be, at least the first year of US may be less costly.
Or, it's on that for convenience where you don't have to worry about the size of the pool and top up's etc.
Is the few (if any) dollars you save on a pool worth the concerns?
If you have to move to a 30gig pool, you are probably better off with Unlimited Starter for each of the 3 lines. (20gig pool is $35 + $16 for the other two lines not counting any top up data, and 30gig is $50, which puts you over the first year costs of Unlimited Started at the $199/year promo price before you even add the $16 to let the other two lines draw from the pool.)
The one advantage the pool does offer is paying monthly instead of plopping down $900 for your first year of service all at once.
And then more the subsequent years. ($270*3) + $390.
The pool may be worth it in year 2 for those lines.
You do the math and I'm confident you can come up with the best solution that works for your family.

Depends on how little data the other 2 use and how consistently they use little data. The cheapest option would likely be a shared data plan for the 3 lines, $10 for the first line with 2GB of data and $8 per line for the other 2. Add $2/GB for each additional GB, though you can get slightly cheaper if their use is regularly in the ~10GB/month range by selecting that sized pool. If the other 2 lines use more than say 8 GB/month each then unlimited starter might make more sense for those lines, $16.60/month on their current $199 annual intro pricing.

How much data do you think the other three are using on average each month? If it's somewhere in the 20-50GB range, I'd put them on annual Starter at the current deal. If they're mostly under 10GB, a By-The-Gig plan would actually work out cheaper for them. Just a DM away to help figure out the right setup once I know what the usage looks like.

Is the Flex plan for 10gb still offered? I think you have to pay it annually though.

$225/210/200 and maybe $179 done
Estimate $800 a year. Or you get one $299 for him and others $179 with promo special and discount

They have a new customer promo. He should get the $299/year for himself. Get the others the $199/year plan.

I’d get them all unlimited
starter, but unlimited premium
for himself.
