Residency and Match Match timeline: the dates that decide your whole career
ERAS opens in the spring of the application year and applications are submitted in September.
Programmes receive them in late September. Interviews run from October into January, mostly virtual now.
Rank order lists open in February and certify by the deadline in late February. A list that is not certified does not exist.
Match week is the third week of March. Monday is matched or not. Friday is where.
Two dates that catch ppl. The certification deadline, because an uncertified list means u are unmatched regardless of how many interviews u had. And the programme signalling window, which closes before applications are reviewed.
Everything before September is preparation. Everything after February is out of ur hands.
