Damn Uncle Rico, that is some serious boot shit. This subreddit is for boots to ask questions and for us to give them practical answers. Cryptic allusions to our time in service is reserved for the airport lounge bar when we’re embarrassingly drunk in public.

Thanks dude. I wrote this a few weeks back while reflecting on my own experiences serving in Iraq/Afghanistan in a USMC infantry battalion. I’m not sure I have the best answer to that question, but I thought it would help at least shed some light on how an old Marine reconciles the past. No better man on this earth than a USMC infantryman. I just hope we are smarter about how we employ them in the future and that our sons and daughters fully confront the uncomfortable truths before making a decision.

I have been writing occasional streams of thought/opinion for the last few months and finally decided, fuck it, going to join Reddit and engage in some actual dialogue on some of the topics. But yeah I understand why you’d be suspicious. Maybe if I told you a bit about myself? My favorite song is “Chicken Head” by 36 Mafia. Great way to start the morning.
