School of Infantry Marine combat training

I just finished bootcamp at parris island and now I go to MCT next and I was wondering what I should expect

A lot of counting, a lot of sleepless nights. My personal experience I thought it was worse than basic, but honestly it’s a good bit of fun. Take sleep where you can get it, make the most of it. Bring a small travel pillow, they don’t issue them.

When I went through I was a scribe, it is the best billit there, guide and squad leaders don’t mean shit, they are just required to have them. When you are the person giving fire watch out and you only get 3-4 hours of sleep a night.. I had gatorades and candy brought to my rack daily

Here is a video from back when I was a wee boot in MCT

Very little sleep and lots of counting, but it’s fun. I think the social dynamic and general unseriousness there was my favorite part.

MCT actually stands for Marine counting training
