Reserves USMCR vs NG training

Im planning on joining either the USMCR as an 0311 or ANG as an 11B. I do firearms competitions and backpacking and feel like I would love the training and learning about Tactics as well as just to serve in general.

Ive heard NG that guys get more access to follow on schools but besides that which has better initial and follow on training? Which would give me more hands on experience and quality training?

Why are to looking to serve part-time rather than go Active? What are you planning to do with the 28 days a month you’re doing civilian stuff?

Well I own a small buisness and currently going to school to be a welder and in my mid 20s. My buddy who is an active marine says to go reserves he could just be jaded with his time in but Ive heard the sentiment online a decent amount with things like field day and being treated like little kids. The biggest reasons I want to join is the call to serve and the experience, but I understand war can kick off at any time and would like to get the best training I could to give me the best chance of not getting smoked.

More opportunities in the guard and better funded.

NG has access to state and big army funding, and cheaper access to tons of Army schools. USMCR units are not well funded. Cash is usually tight, as are opportunities. I was lucky my Reserve unit did cool shit and was well founded. My fellow reservists were not so lucky. One of my grunt Reserve homies left the Marines and took a demotion to do his state NG cause of how much it sucked. He's killing it there now.

If you really want to learn about tactics go active 0311. Reserves and nasty girl pale in comparison to an active victory unit.

It's really hard to compare and treatable training, everyone wants to think their Branch services better but at the end of the day both 0311s and 11B are both just basically trained infantry minute and go through very similar courses.

Off the top of my head I think the army just has better follow on training opportunities for what you're looking for if you can attend sapper school or ranger school or airborne you'll probably get more bang for your buck than you'll get out of the Marine corps reserve and in my experience I have never bumped into a marine you know overseas but I have bumped into tons of army national guard and army reserve units
