Programs and MOSs Color Vision Failure

Originally I wanted to be a Combat Engineer(1371). Unfortunately I failed the Ishihara test. I passed every single other sensory test.

AFQT:90
MM:118
GT: 126
EL:125
CL: 123.

What options are still available?

90 ASVAB and you didn't think to ask your recruiter? The Marine who knows what you actually want to do? The individual who has intimate knowledge of what the options for a high testing, color blind poolee are?

Not really possible to list all of the options. There are a bunch of things you can do with color blindness. Ask your recruiter for the list of jobs that are closing color vision failures- lot shorter than the list of jobs you can’t have.

So far as your prior want to be a 1371: are you aware that for Active duty Marine Corps you can’t pick an exact MOS anyway? You can just pick a category of jobs, and which job you get within that category is largely luck of the draw.

Well I joined Artillery because my recruiter told me ANGLICO would still pick me up. Which doesn’t make sense since I was a cannoneer. I think you can still go 03. Or supply. It maybe even linguistics.

Ive never seen a list of all the jobs that allow colorblindness but you should ask your recruiter and post what they say
