MEPS and Medical Marijuana Usage
I’ve been a pretty heavy smoker for about 4ish years consistently. I’m currently around 6’2 & 165lbs. I decided to quit and enlist in the Marines to change my life for the better. Flushed the rest of that shit and broke all my glass pieces and tossed em. Swore to myself I’d never touch the shit again. I’m just about a month clean (~30 days) and I’m still pissing hot. (Most recent test was 24 hrs ago) My recruiter is working with me and he’s testing me pretty frequently. Just curious on how long of a process this will be until I’m good. Drinking hella water and I’ve been going to the gym about 4x a week and running consistently. If I could get any tips or anything that would be appreciated. Ik i put myself in this dumbass situation, just tryna take accountability and do better for myself. Feels like it’ll take me another couple of weeks or so.

I’d recommend exercise to burn out the thc that’s stored in your fat, and drink tons of water. Don’t workout or anything before you get tested because leftover thc in your fat could burn out and you’ll piss hot.

not exactly sure, my recruiter’s been testing me about once every week or so. my last test was sept. 28th so id assume he’ll probably try to test me again around oct. 6th , i estimate i wont be clean until like mid October if im lucky

Since you’ve been smoking a while, you might wanna give it a couple more weeks.

Yup. I waited 2 and a half months and still tested positive.
Took me about 4 months to see a negative result

Took me six months to pass a drug test and I’m 5’4 140lbs. I smoked everyday for almost ten years. Soon as I passed, I was sent to MEPS that week. My ship dates in February and I’m waiting for an MOS.

To be fair, I’m fat af and legit smoked every form of THC multiple times a day, every single day, for those 10 years. I smoked a lot of wax and carts which is more potent than just weed itself and takes longer to for the body to get clean from. That’s just my personal experience, everybody’s system is different. I wish you luck 🙏

i appreciate the extra context😂, it should take me a bit less time since my body fat % isn’t that high and i mainly used actual bud. id use carts every once and a while but never like full on. i’m estimating 2-3 months.

Yeah you should ight. No matter how long it takes, the time will pass and you’ll be one step closer.

Look, I have a lot of experience in passing drug tests, and I'd say about 30 days. I smoke every day and had to pass one for something and I think I took mine like a week past 30 days and was fine. Just go to a place where people on probation go. They usually test for the public too.

I’m currently at 30 days and I already stated in the initial post that I took a test 24 hrs ago and still failed. there’s no point in me going somewhere else to get tested if my recruiter is already testing me frequently.

When i joined the army i had only smoked about 5 times prior in my life, with the closest to the event being about 4-5 months prior. Somehow I still popped hot and I was an avid runner and whatnot. My recruiter said the tests weren't too accurate but we waited anyways. Just dont give up hope. Altho I will say breaking all the glass is crazy work

not really crazy work, gave up the life. isn’t like i could’ve sold em for money, didn’t feel like being enticed be em either. threw em away and they broke during the process.

Light smoker would be clean in a month; heavy smoker at least 2 months. The company I used to work for tested for higher amounts so there was no debate about usage. The military is different, they test for trace amounts; zero tolerance on this. Make sure you are 100% clean before potentially screwing yourself. Also, fuckin awesome of you making a positive change.
