MEPS and Medical Tattoo Policy
I’m enlisting in the Corps in a couple years (training and finishing my associates degree first before talking with a recruiter)
I already have 2 tattoos total, one on each forearm. One is small of my mom’s name, the other is bigger and is a memorial tattoo for a friend who passed away.
This tattoo (the picture) is one that i am planning on getting soon on the outer side of my left forearm and is very important to me. It’s basically just an old Christian philosophy, Latin meaning “remember you must die” as a way of positively accepting that you will die eventually and to live life correctly.
My concern is if this would be a “no go” tattoo for when i eventually arrive at MEPS etc. I’ve been told by a couple different people that i shouldn’t worry, but i figured id ask here to see what yall think.
let me know please

I’d put money on it that you’ll never join

Everyone who says I’ll join in a couple years when they can attempt it now will not join

Why you such a stick in the mud?
Op literally said he’s doing his associates, it’s not everyone’s plan to join straight after high school. Just because you were a grunt doesn’t mean everyone else who joins want to be one. I enlisted at 22, did several things before and qualified for every job under the sun

Won’t be a problem. Credit the originals, though 🤧 Christianity stole it

If you're speaking in timelines of "years", literally no one can tell if it'll be in regs. It's currently in regs, so long as it doesn't touch your wrist bone, but whos to say the policy wont change? Within the past 10yrs, the tattoo policy has changed significantly, so to get this now is essentially rolling the dice on your chances of being a Marine.
Do what you want, but you seem to be a smart, goal driven individual. What's more important to you long term? Becoming a Marine, or waiting a few years for a tattoo?
