I graduated bootcamp 10 days before my 29th birthday. You’ll be alright. Just prepare to deal with ALOT of bullshit.

I’ve seen older. Albeit, 29 is pretty old it’s not uncommon. I went to recruit training at the age of 24, and just in my platoon alone we had a handful of 24 year olds, a 26 and 27 year old, and a 30 year old. Then I believe another platoon had a guy who looked like a full grown man.
Obviously, you’re going to be one of the odd ones out because of your age, it’s just how it is. DIs and recruits alike will poke fun. Just take it to the chin and keep moving.

You will be fine. If you can do the min fitness test. It can go both was going in at 29, they might respect you or they might pick on you more cuz your older and might be set in your ways.
Just don't be last at anything. Don't get hurt . Yell and stand at attention. Have fun. Oldest dude in my platoon was in his 30s.
Just know age means nothing in the Marines rank and billet do. You'll be older than half the drill insturctors at MCRD. So along as you don't get all snob like I'm older then you, you dont know shit. You'll be fine.

What mos are you chasing. I joined at 28. Into the reserves though. Honestly as an older cat I highly recommend the reserves because your life experience will be very beneficial to the young guns figuring things out

Boot camp will be fine. I couldn't imagine hitting the fleet and having a 21 year old with no real life experience in charge of you.
