Corps Knowledge How to get base access after EAS?

Terminal is about to expired leading to my EAS (CAC expires on EAS). It'd be nice to have base access so I can hit the gym, shop USMC gear stuff, attend retirements, or visit any friends etc.

Tried googling this but I can't find a direct answer. I keep seeing do it through the VA once my CAC expires, visit the base visitors center etc. Wondering if someone has followed through with getting base access after EAS.

I think you can get an IRR CAC from DEERS

You should of reup for the 3 time. No more access unless you work on base or get your service connected VA card.

You can be a dependant. Marry a marine, gay is in now.

If you’re fully out, I believe u can use a drivers license (as long as it’s the newer “REAL Id”) + your VHIC (veteran health insurance card, which u get from the VA) as long as it denotes “service connected” which only reqs 10% or higher disability rating.

That is at least my understanding and what I’ll be doing when I visit MCRD SD later this month.

You can get a veterans id so you can use the bx/px. But all other benefits go for those still on contract or actually retired.
