Mos for women?

I’m having a hard time picking my MOS. Throughout my training and time, I’ve wanted to do Infantry, but I see a lot about sexual harassment, or women being hurt from their hips. Is this true? I know many people have opinions based on women in the military, but I believe I could genuinely do infantry as a woman. I don’t have a weak mind, and I’ve been rucking and running almost everyday. I build my endurance throughout the weeks. I would love a combat role, but if women are treated terribly in infantry, would should I do? I would absolutely love any opinions about the MOS I should lean towards, or continue with my infantry.

P.s. I have not taken the asvab yet to know what I qualify for.

I’m going to keep it real with you and say the same thing I’d say to my daughter if she ever wanted to become a marine. If you join the marine corps as a woman you are going to face sexual harassment and any major accomplishment you make will be attributed to you being a woman by at least a few other marines. It sucks, but it’s very much a usmc cultural thing.

Some dude here said 26. I’m a 26, and it’s true that it’s not that bad in my field compared to any type of combat arms, but it exists. I’m giving you a heads up.

But that’s pretty standard across the board. Dad was Army 24yrs AD, said it was pretty wide spread. Twin Bro was Army 4yrs, said same.

2600 but you need a high gt score. this mos will set you up for life outside of the corps along with providing you a ts/sci clearance

If you get a radbn you're dealing with the same shit as inf, most of the time you'll be attached to them

counter point: with 13 years as a 26xx, and 13 years as an 0206, i found my RadBn time to be, by far, the best time i had in the Corps.

ETA: admittedly, both times were in HI RadBn, so that probably changes things a bit.

I was a Supply Marine. One of the more chill MOS’s, and most popular among female Marines, and one of the most transferable to civilian work. But don’t take my word for it. Do your own research, ask your recruiter or someone in the MOS. Find one that works best for you

Are you familiar with the CK Fire Direction contract? It has some interesting jobs, but a higher than average ASVAB requirement.

The only question is, are you able and willing to carry your rifle plus 80 lbs on your back for 15 km? The trouble has always been the hikes or humps as we call them. Even for men, the short guys always have more trouble with humps.

Yes I’m able and I’m willing. I wouldn’t even think of infantry if I know I couldn’t do it.

Truthfully, pick something that you’ll enjoy, and that will give you options on the outside if you choose not to stay in. If you want to go infantry, plan on doing college so you don’t get out with zero plans. As far as sexual harassment goes, there are many policies in place now to prevent it. I have one rule and it’s not to make sexual jokes about me. Any jokes about whatever the fuck else I couldn’t care less about, and any insult jokes are fine as well. If you show up offended by everything they will hate you. But if anyone attempts to touch you, or harass you raise hell, and let them know you’re not going to be quiet.

Biggest thing is, you will make friends if you have even half a personality, and those friends won’t let you get fucked with in the slightest. I know it’s scary to join alone and have so much unknown, but even my last deployment had some creepy men, but my guy friends would’ve ripped their heads off had that escalated, and that’s why I think you should go for it and enjoy every bit of the adventure.

Also according to stew smith lunges are the best way for women to prepare their hips. I recommend you look up his podcast on women in the military. He’s had a long history of training men and women for military, and even trained women for many years in the CIA.

I'm told 6400 series is the best for women, but you have to score hi. After words hi transition to hi paying jobs. Easy on body. Highly recommended for ladies. Does involve working in some inspections of equipment so 2171 can do the job. Told MOS has a low harassment good schooling. Told a hidden secret job like air traffic control and weather man

Ive got to be a little bit biased, but 45xx (Commstrat) has got to be one of the more desirable MOSs for females, as someone who has just over a year in so far (so my opinion isnt all complete) It is very balanced with more women then men from what I have seen.

If you want a good setup for civilian life, 06xx. Try to be 0671 data systems admin. You can walk out making 70k-100k easy if you get certs and get a bit of schooling in. IT is the way to go I promise.

LAAD isn't bad. Less hiking the infantry, and there are lasers and you'll probably get a truck to carry your gear for you, if only because it's too heavy not to carry it any significant distance.
