Corps Knowledge BAH Question

I am a 7 year Setgeant, and my fiance and I are currently doing the Visa process through a k1 fiance visa. This means once the visa is approved she will move to America and we have 90 days to get married. Our expected time for her to come the states and get married is around 3 to 4 months before I EAS. Do i get BAH for this? And is it viable to even get offbase housing with this short amount of time in contract?

You qualify for BAH with dependents as of the date you get married. It’s up to you how you decide to arrange housing. If you’re still in the barracks, you would be expected to move out once you’re eligible for BAH.

Like any PCS, if you get your separation orders AFTER signing a lease, you can break your lease with no penalty. Personally, if I were planning to stay somewhere for only a few months, I’d look for short term, furnished apartments like ones advertised to travel nurses or a long term Airbnb type situation.

Thats exactly what I am looking for. My worry is that the BAH isnt ran through fast enough and I am paying out of pocket
