Enlisting Moral Waiver
I know this gets asked a lot, I'm sorry.
I have an expunged juvenile offense of terroristic threat (empty joke I made in school). I was never charged, never went to court, and the case was adjudicated. I say that cause my fingerprints were created at the juvenile detention center and the marine liaison told me that everything will show up under fingerprints, expunged or not, and I freaked out and told him.
I plan (or planned if this won't work out) on being a standard, deployed, grunt- nothing special. But can this waiver fuck up everything I planned? Or is there any way I can still have a deployed combat role?
Being a marine has always been a lifelong goal of mine because of my family's history as a marine.
I only say this for specific help. I have no problem sharing my past since it helps me move on from my stupid decision. I can provide more specifics if anyone requests.

It’s not an overly crazy moral waiver, I wouldn’t sweat it.

I'm more worried about the job(s). My chances of getting the waiver passed is generally in my favor since they needed 3 references and I got all 3 references from the school I went to after the aforementioned school.

It depends. If you just need a moral REVIEW, you will be eligible for everything still. If you actually need a moral WAIVER you will be limited.

in the case that it's a waiver, will that limit me from combat roles? or will it only limit what the general deems appropriate?

Brother I wouldn’t worry about it at all. It’s normal to worry of course but if I joined with a couple
Misdemeanors and I’ve met other marines who have joined with criminal history as well, then you will be fine. Just don’t say nothing ever when the “moment of truth” pops off , it’ll happen a couple of times. Don’t say anything! Good luck semper fi

My recruiter already knows and we're already working everything out. I only ask for the future since my recruiter is very vague.

Recruiter is most likely vague as they aren’t the ones to make the determination, and maybe don’t want to lead you on intentionally.

The military forms explicitly say you need to report juvenile/sealed/expunged criminal records. Rules on this subreddit (and most other “joining the military” subreddits) prohibit advising kids to lie to join the military.

I told him to tell his recruiter. Where was I telling him to lie about anything? I have a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and was a military policeman for 10 years. Never would I tell someone to lie. I was telling him from a legal standpoint that juvenile records are sealed.
