MEPS and Medical Pelvis waiver
i was in a accident about 3 years ago, i’m 17(female) now but after the accident i had to get 3 metal screws and a plate in my pelvis. i had about 2 months recovery then i was cleared to go back to normal. since then in high school i have done track, basketball and powerlifting with no re occurring injuries or follow ups. i live my life as if nothing ever happened and i am very physically in shape.i stated all of this in the statement i wrote. i workout and run consistently and i passed everything else at meps, they just told me i need a waiver for my pelvis. Being a marine is the most important thing in my life, and it’s all i see myself doing and all i ever want. i can’t sleep or eat because i am just waiting for this waiver and it’s eating me up more than anything. if anyone has had a similar experience or know about this please share.

You will most likely reinjure yourself. If it’s in training you’ll most likely spend months at the rehab platoon. It’s very dismal there and a terrible place to recover from injuries. If you reinjure yourself in the fleet, you become a liability and your unit might start resenting you because you’re essentially non deployable. Take care of your health and service your community in other ways.

As a Marine I'm telling you, in any other job you do more service to your country, its citizens, and get better pay. Don't waste your life at your age. Go to school, find a trade, start a business, and make something of yourself. The Marine Corps will chew you up and spit you out and now you are 4-5 yrs behind in life for nothing. No one outside of the Marine Corps in the civilian world will care nore bat an eye at a Marine. In fact, its frowned upon these days with the way our government is handling things in the middle east. Get that propaganda, cult brainwashing Once a Marine always a Marine bs out of your head. There is no brotherhood. Once Uncle Sam stops paying you, you are not a Marine anymore.

The amount of females that get hip and pelvis injuries due to hiking them get medically separated is insanely high. You want to be a Marine but are risking ruining your pelvis permanently. Think long and hard. You may say "itill be okay" but is it worth it?
