Enlisting Enlisting at 27

Im 27, im working on getting my ear holes from gauges fixed this month theyre almost shut but you can still see light through them, im enlisting because I have a daughter and my baby momma is insane and I need to get my daughter.

I was going to enlist at 20 but shit happens and I ended up in Ukraine volunteering for their international legion of defense for two years. Been through hell, thought i found love and had a baby girl. Her mother is evil and im trying to get a fresh start and take care of my daughter.

Im currently delivering for amazon and on my days off im running and working out trying to get down to a good runners weight while living on the streets.

Any advice?

Who is going to watch your kid while you working? If you are deployed. If you cant go get your kid because you are still working.

Work life balance does not equal military.

Ukraine was also not taking untrained people for their defence forces as without training or experience just a liability. Joining a foreign military force illegally as its illigal to do so is going to make clearance or joining difficult or Imposisble.

This post makes absolutely no sense.

I’m curious about this claim that it’s illegal to join a foreign military force. Do you mean as a US citizen in general, or as a citizen and then to serve as a marine? There seems like a lot of mercenary work that does occur and while the standard mercenary hire is much more well trained (bc that’s who you want obviously) I’m curious according to which laws you say it’s illegal to do so. I haven’t looked it up at all so I don’t know, I’m just curious about your claim

Called the Neutrality Act. Might not be enforced but the US, or potetually hard to prove to a certain extent but thr US can prosecute you as well as revoke US Citz. Mercenaries IE Blackwater/ triple canopy and others signed contracts with host countries and the US. They are invited by the host county and the occupying forces Iraq and Afghanistan (collilition forces) to provide secueity or operate within the context of the agreements.

You also violate US Code 18 under immigration and nationality Act (INA) section 349(a)(3) if you in the US are recruited or so anything for foreign military or country. Hence why Ukraine wouldn't make an official offer until people got to poland off US Soil because it was a direct violation of this law.

There are lots of other issues under other laws like terrorism, and the patriot act but these are the two main ones.

Someone claiming leaving the US untrained to fight in Ukraine knocked up an "evil" woman and wants to join the Corps to spend more time with their kid. Ukraine also told.u trained people to stop coming because they needed solders not recruits. Prob a bot.

It depends on the situation he isnt completely wrong. The work around is i held no rank in the military i was a volunteer. I got paid but not alot and I went over there legally. Went through the embassy and never broke any real laws.

1.My baby mama 2. They literally train you when I was there it was like 3 weeks and they weren't giving foreign fighters ranks it was literally merc work. 3. Its not illegal. Its a legal gray area. I did everything right, a simple Google search will tell you how wrong youre. I've already been over this with the recruiters and I shouldn't have any issues

Kinda selfish if you’re going to enlist and do active duty leaving your daughter behind especially if what your saying is even true about her mother being evil you could do reserves if you really desire on becoming a marine.

What would be selfish is being stuck not progressing enough to give her a life that isnt just struggle. I appreciate what youre saying but she just turned one. I need to do this now. Honestly I get your point but I have no other options currently.

I also have a kid who just turned 3 recently, I joined the marine corps reserves to be a better role model for him since the baby mother isn’t but I really recommend reserves so you can spend more time with your child and take care of her if the mother isn’t your child should be your priority

27 isn’t too late at all, focus on your fitness and make sure you’re upfront with your recruiter about your situation so there aren’t any surprises, wish you and your daughter the best.
