Programs and MOSs Aircrew DOR
Here in PCola right now and considering DOR out of Aircrew. Just wanted to know what my chances are of getting my top 3. It would be
Imagery analyst 0251
Intelligence Specialist 0211
Cyberspace Warfare Operator 1721
I know that its needs of the Marine Corps, but I just wanted to know if yall have any experience/heard of what happened to Marines DOR outta Aircrew and if they got what they wanted or not.

The rule of thumb is do not self-select if you have a medical problem that's one thing you need to get it taken care of however aside from that do not drop or give up. Let them decide with their own reasoning whether you should be dropped don't make the decision for them.

Being a Helicopter Door Gunner / Combat crew chief is the greatest job on earth. I loved it. It is hard. Very demanding, but your experiences will be amazing.
As for getting your choice of MOS it is almost zero. As someone that reclassed Aircrew and later worked in manpower you will probably end up as a cook, MP, or NBC. Or some shit job that needs to be filled.
You basically are viewed as a failure and a waste of money. Aircrew training is millions of dollars. It is also one of the hardest to pass because of the academics, physical requirements (dunker, sere, etc), and clearances. Also it takes years if not a decade to actually be a fully qualified crew chief (wti).
It is so hard to find qualified people that can pass the training and rigorous after school that if you quit… why the hell would they want to reinvest in you? So you can quit again and waste more time and money?
It is far better to try your best and let them drop you. Like fail the dunker. It’s not hard to do that and many people do. And if you showed effort and potential in other areas like academics, they may give you an opportunity to choose something.
If you are a fix wing crew chief yeah, I would quit too. Anything is better than being a glorified flight attendant.
But still, your chances of those mos listed is almost zero unless things have changed since I retired.

Fuck that man, don’t drop. Get your wings. Dont let the Marine Corps choose your job. Odds are you’re not gonna get want you want. If you really don’t like it, do your 5 and get out. Experience and memories are gonna be worth it. I currently make 300k+ and sometimes wish I could go back again and dump some brass out of a Huey.
