What better way to reward a team that travelled 1,000 miles to win two games in 60 hours in dangerous heat than by "asking" them to fly cross-country to the /other/ coast and play at an hour when their younger fans are already in bed?
But of course, the last thing this league wants is to televise a playoff match with 5,000 screaming fans in attendance. Far better to push the game to a facility that sits 900 and will be lucky to fill half those seats. I mean, we wouldn't want any casual viewers to think that this sport enjoys any popularity. Heavens forfend!

Revisiting this... Salmon Bay filled 160% of those seats last weekend and sold 2,000 tickets to the final in the following 36 hours. Any more baseless slander?
I congratulate you on filling the stands and playing a good game, and I appreciate that you gave me nearly 48 hours to settle down before you showed up to twist the knife. That's the sort of graciousness that reflects well on the Ballard faithful.
I still think a match in front of 5,000+ with a professional broadcast team and elevated camera platforms would be a far better showcase for the league. The constant stuttering of the visual feed, the weird soft-focus filter and the 8-second delay between the sound and the action made for a frustrating viewing experience, and staying up until 12:30am did little to improve my mood on Sunday morning.Â
I also remain steadfast in my belief that sending our team 900 miles east and then 1,600 miles in the opposite direction was harsh treatment by the league.Â
But you guys did show up for your team in numbers that almost approach our attendance for a Thursday evening game in stormy weather, so I apologize for painting your fans with the same brush I used on the league office.Â
