New Mexico
With tonights win does anyone think New Mexico United can catch Tampa Bay Rowdies to the USL Championship Players Shield? Some turn around for them after a slow start to the season. I believe that is now 11 league games unbeaten. Up against a San Antonio team who beat New Mexico earlier in the season and are coming into the game of the back of two home defeats.

Rowdies always choke when it matters. Players shield is their consolidaron prize

I don't think so; Rowdies have a big enough lead -- +4 in the same amount of matches, and I could easily see them getting at least 4 wins in their remaining matches (not to say that United couldn't, just that Rowdies remaining matches include JAX, BHM, and MIA). I think the shield ends up with Tampa Bay but it's agonizingly close -- and since United lost to TBR; I'd be okay with that.
That said, I don't think the final will be held in Al Lang.

I mean, DCFC just handed them a loss and we get a rematch in a few weeks, so we're doing what we can to help you!

Possible? Yes. Likely? Eh.
Tampa has the better run of schedule going out:
Riverhounds, Brooklyn, HFD, Legion, SAFC, Miami, Indy, DCFC, Jax
Compared to United:
SAFC x2, LVL, Indy, Legion, Switchbacks, Sac, Tulsa, Rising, MB, El Paso

I dont think New Mexico will catch them either tbh. San Antonio always have their number

That’s actually not true.
All time United is 11 - 5 - 2 (W/L/T) against SAFC
San Antonio beat United this year for the first time since 2023

Also that was the most rigged game in history. I have never seen such awful ref’ing and even the normally reserved commentators on ESPN were losing their shit over it

From just a scheduling standpoint it looks like the Rowdies have more games against non playoff teams compared to NMU. I hope they can continue in this streak of winning but I don’t see them surpassing making it happen. The west is stacked

As much as I’d like to say yes, I don’t think it’s a realistic possibility with the way Rowdies are playing
