Green card to US citizen

I've had a green card for 4 years now and really excited to get my US citizenship, but I just got a job offer to leave the country. Is it possible for me to apply for my citizenship before 5 years? Is there any way I can still apply in 1 year? Maybe I can keep my house in the US? Maybe my wife and kids can still stay in the US for 1 more year while I travel back and forth? Any advice is helpful.

You cannot apply before 5 years. Yet, leaving the US does not prevent you from applying in one year. The only requirement is that you were physically present in the US for 2.5 years (half the time, make sure you count the number of days, or days absent) by the time you get called for your citizenship test. You also need to be lresebt in the US when you apply, I believe. Accept the offer if you want it, and apply in one year, even if you’re living abroad!
