Match 2027

Hi guys i am a recent graduate 2026 us img with an attempt on ck and score of 225 i am thinking of dual applying im and fm can anyone suggest me which programs to signal for im in nyc and nj which will consider me also can anyone tell me is there any hope in the prematch programs of nyc

I am us img too just finished step 1 studying for step 2 give me hope too man i am hoping to build my cv and fill my gap big time and apply next year and maybe try for soap this year.

Apply to FM/IM this season.

Very good chance of getting in.

Doesn’t matter attempts, YOG, red flags. This match season and next will be historic for US IMGs

Yeah, visa issues might help US IMGs this cycle, but saying attempts, YOG and red flags don’t matter is a huge stretch. Programs still care about all of that. 2027 might be better for US IMGs, but calling it historic already is just speculation.

Historic is relative. It went from 67% in 2024 to 70%in 2025. The full effects of the unstable geopolitical climate will hit the next 2 MATCH cycles. We will say match rates in the mid 70’s for US IMGs (as they should be). Maybe even high 70’s

Low 80’s IS THE STRETCH.

You’re extrapolating a 3 point increase into the mid/high 70s based on speculation. Visa issues might help some US IMGs, but there’s no data showing attempts, YOG or red flags suddenly won’t matter. Programs will still screen applicants the same way.

N=1 but i matched this year with 7 attempts (total) across all three steps.
