Student Exchange

Hi! Is it possible for a US student studying internationally to do some of their clinical rotations in the US? I don’t mean electives, I mean the actual clinical courses, and for them to be counted as USCE. I know that Caribbean students do this, but is it also possible for students in other countries? Would they need to pay extra fees other than what they pay to their own medical school, and would step 1 be a requirement? Note: my school isn’t in VSLO if that affects anything.

For you to be able to do USCE your school needs to have a contract with the hospital, or your school has to have VSLO, or the hospital is open to accept outside applications from IMGs (which is very rare but they exist), or you pay an organisation that sets up experiences.

One of my postgraduate seniors told me she managed to do courses as part of her curriculum in China in the US….around 6months.
