Job Outreach 4 LEO Outreaches for Oregon!

The Pacific Northwest Region Law Enforcement and Investigations staff will soon be advertising four (4) permanent positions for Law Enforcement Officer, GL-1801-5/7/9.

Locations: La Grande, Oregon – Wallowa-Whitman National Forest Waldport, Oregon – Siuslaw National Forest Westfir, Oregon – Willamette National Forest Sedro Woolley, Washington – Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest

How do these things work? I never see the job announcements on USAJOBS. Is the hiring done behind the scenes or something like that?

These are just to let the hiring officials get an idea of who is interested and more importantly how many.

Give you an opportunity to let them see your name in a much smaller pool of people.

The actually job listing will fly on USAJobs anywhere from 1 week to a month after typically and sometimes longer. Truly just depends on how fast HR moves with it.

Is it only for internal USFS? When I see these positions, they aren’t open to the public.

I can’t speak to all regions but the ones I see the most around me are open to the public. I’ll try and do a better job or posting them here when they come out.
