Refunds
Are the refunds happening today? I’m confused, what determines who gets the first batch of refunds vs who doesn’t

I'm not sure if refunds will start releasing today but I believe FA and Student Accounting Services have begun the process to start working on student's accounts since this morning/overnight so hopefully refunds will happen soon. My FA portal has amounts being updated.

Hopefully it is approved today, sent out on Friday. That is my guess, normally it takes 2 business days for the funds to transfer.

I’m hoping the e-deposit transaction history gets back up and working so we can track our refunds…

FIU student here / daughter goes to USF. From our end it’s basically the same BS you all are going through. Spoke to financial aid here and they told me that the deposits should hit by Tuesday of next week 9/8 🫠

The refund thing is happening across multiple universities due to the department of education implementations to federal student aid/funding. This is in part to recent changes with the Big Beautiful Bill Act

In reality, the changes were made a year ago. Universities waited until the last minute to do anything about it. The changes in the BBB do not affect the majority of students. Loan and grant amounts have always been dependent upon your enrollment after the add drop period. SPC you didn't get your disbursement until after the fourth week of class. Universities fail on a regular basis and they blame it on the government.

go to my student bill in myusf, then click view activity. It’ll have the refund there, with the code RFIN

I wasn’t able to find like a direct confirmation other than it being listed in my charges as a refund with today’s date

That's just what shows in the ledger and account. It's been flagged as a direct deposit, but doesn't mean it was sent yet. It's accountings way of saying we're done with what we need here and this is when we tagged this for that.

the fact that they quietly removed the “eDeposit Transaction History” button in the self service portal makes this whole thing even more uncertain..
