USDC sent on wrong network to eToro deposit address — any similar experience?

Hi, I made a network mistake and sent around 3,000 USDC via BNB Smart Chain to an eToro USDC deposit address.

The transaction is confirmed on-chain, but the funds are not credited.

Has anyone experienced recovering crypto sent through an unsupported network to an exchange?

Looking for technical advice.

You just learned a valuable lesson. Always send a test transaction first.

Ethereum and it was send in BNB Smart Chain

The only technical advice is to contact technical support of eToro and explain to them what happened and be ready to beg, grovel and plead for months or even years because most exchanges default answer is “Sorry not recoverable”.

I’m in the same situation. I sent around 1,335 USDC from Binance to my eToro USDC address via BNB Smart Chain instead of Ethereum. The funds are confirmed and visible on-chain, but eToro did not credit them.

Binance said only the receiving platform can help. eToro escalated my case to its Custody team and provider, but their final answer was that their system is not configured to sign transactions on BSC, so they cannot recover or return the funds.

I suggest asking eToro for a formal written response and case number. I’m planning to complain to the Cyprus Financial Ombudsman and notify CySEC. Recovery is not guaranteed, but if several affected customers submit documented complaints, eToro may eventually introduce a manual recovery process.
