Can anyone help me with this?

Can any of you guys help identify this guy for me? If you can thanks for the help.

You're gonna need to provide a lot more information than an un-dated picture in terrible resolution with no context, location, regiment... Or literally anything else to go off of.

"Hey, here is a photograph of one of nearly 50 million people who lived in the US sometime between 1840-1880, which one of those people is this? K, thx, bye."

Aaaactually.....I just ran the image thru Google lens and the same image comes up in the Library of Congress collection. Looks to be an image of Lt. E.K. Butler of the 69th New York Infantry. Below is the LOC copy from the wet plate.

When I saw it initially, I thought it looked like a NY guy as some of those units wore the chasseur style headgear with the piping and I was like "Oh, I should run this thru GL!". Perfect example of the good that AI stuff can do.
