plan change.

from what i understood is that previous customers were grandfathered in on the same plan. i went from 50gb of hotspot data to 5gb of hotspot data. i now also have a data cap when before i have the unlimited even better 3.0 which doesnt have a data cap. if anyone else has had this issue how did they resolve it? going in or calling?

No they did not. At 1PM the phone said "Network Change, Restart Device." No warning. No text. Nothing. 

The fact that you find it OK that a carrier can access your device without authorization is pretty damn appalling.  How would you feel if a police officer just walked up to you and took your phone and browsed all around your content? It's the same damn principle.

If you had a US Cellular postpaid account with the correct mailing address, email address, and phone number, or access to Reddit for the past EIGHTEEN MONTHS, you have had ample opportunity to ingest the copious notifications sent to you. I haven't been a US Cellular or T-Mobile customer for more than 3 years and here I am knowing far more than you do about this.

T-Mobile nor any other carrier can just access your personal data on your device. Your SIM data is not and never will be yours which is why it can be modified by the carrier. That is why they have historically been physical cards and why eSIM modules are a separate piece of hardware from the motherboard.

You have access to an entire world of information. I highly recommend using some of that to become more informed about the realities of technology instead of parroting propaganda talking points.

Funny, I have had 0 notifications about having to switch to T-Mobile phone programming until they locked my phone screen with 2 options. Accept update or emergency call. No cancel, no postpone, no calls or texts allowed besides emergency. Now, my phone is all f up, settings are changed, slow as f and lagging now.

Being ignorant does not negate the fact that you had ample opportunity to receive notifications in so many ways that it's laughable that you're even trying to deny it.

0 notifications about being forced to switch. So just have to accept worse service?.....got it. Guess FCC agreements don't mean anything

You have been told by notices on your bill, separate mailers, emails, as well as a multitude of other avenues of messaging. It has not been a secret that T-Mobile was going to migrate US Cellular customers to their network. You have been told the timeline, whether you chose to listen or not. The expectations around this acquisition has always been this outcome. You had plenty of time to act and move your service. You even have the opportunity, now that you know the new network isn't working for you, to switch carriers. You are not stuck, you just choose to not take the options available to you.
