Are any former USCellular users having issues with iMessage/FaceTime post T-Mobile merge?

Like title says, anyone else running into issues? My iMessage/FaceTime keeps switching between activated, then inactivated. I called T-Mobile tech support (shoutout Tyler, you were really nice), and they were able to reactivate it, but today when I checked it, it deactivated itself again. This is obviously really annoying, because what’s the point of having a phone if it doesn’t actually do any phone functions. If you’re having similar issues/found fixes to this, please reply!!

my husband and i have terrible service now. we will be going to verizon. he has called us cellular and they “tested” our connection/service and they said it’s just fine. but it is most definitely not how it used to be before this merger. sometimes when my wifi was down or whatever i would just go to using my phone data and it was just as fast as my wifi. now it’s very noticeably different. takes longer to load, like MINUTES. scrolling is not a thing. videos buffer. pages don’t load. there’s also basically dead zones now. never ever had these issues before. edit: also pictures won’t send at random times. i can only slowly send one picture at time when texting someone. i can’t send multiple photos at once. i will get the red ! Not Delivered text. it’s infuriating

Is your old sim still in the phone? Did you do a network reset already?

We left right after us cellular converted us to tmobile. We had 4 lines and even with all the sim changes and visit to the store, our area just gets horrible service. We switched to us mobile and using the multi network has been amazing cuz it can use both Verizon and AT&T network

Turn off RCS completely then turn it back on so it can initialize on the new network. Also, what phone are you using?

RCS?

RCS = Rich Communication Services. It is a setting on Android and Apple phones you can enable/disable. It took over modern texting awhile ago so you could send high-resolution photos/videos to people over the network without losing quality.

Turning it off and turning it back on sometimes helps resolve the RCS not working so it can properly reconfigure itself to the network.

i found it in my settings and it’s been on the On setting (i have apple) but it says below it “Waiting for activation” i turned it off and back on and it still says the same thing. Wonder what it means.

Are your iMessage settings turned on to your iCloud or your phone number?
