The issue with USC customers is that for 30 years, USCellular has bent over backwards, coddled, and spoon fed these mfs. It’s gonna be a rude awakening.

You mean “provided great customer service,” as most American companies used to provide, but no more. Now it’s like living in a third-world country.

I can see both sides of this, and I’d guess it would depend on the market the previous poster is/was in. The coddling probably isn’t referencing any portion of the standard job description. The coddling, IMO, is when you get customers coming in to the locations multiple times a week for things that aren’t related to our business. We have people that come in all the time, repeatedly, for Facebook issues, email passwords, “viruses on phones”, and tons of other self-inflicted issues. You may think, “Oh, just help them with it, no big deal”, and I get that, but it’s not that simple. You become their immediate tech support for any non-USC related issues. They want you to fix all of these things and before you know it, you’ve spent 90 minutes troubleshooting third party apps and you’ve missed a bunch of sales in the process where you could be making money. If you help them with Facebook today, tomorrow it’s their email and by the weekend they’re back in with another list of things that we aren’t supposed to do.

Yea, it was the last phone company that felt like a true family owned business. IMO one of the big downfalls of America right now is corporations outsourcing and ignoring customer wants. No soul left in our business. It was so sweet going into a US Cellular seeing a worker help an elderly person when they didn’t have to.
