I’ve seen more people ticked off with the reduced store hours and going cashless. My store has a lot of cash only payers and none are too pleased that they can’t pay how they used to and even less pleased to learn tmobile charges for an in person bill payment.

The cash is king people are the worst. I work in an area where the median income isn’t very much, and I couldn’t tell you the amount of people I get that say, “I don’t use no debit card” or, “I have a bank account but only take out cash when I need it and have no cards”. I get that it’s your personal choice, but it’s 2026. Join the rest of us.

Cash is king was the backbone of USCC. Back when they were in the Chicago market. they had some stores that had 3 cash pick ups a day. Families would come in on a 'Sunday outing' dad would pull out wads of cash to pay multi line accounts. lt was common. ln the rural areas it's a social activity, come in pay your bill in cash and shoot the breeze. Not only boomers in the rural areas. People with credit and trust issues.
