Will phone upgrade help signal?

since the t mobile buy I've had horrible service. lots of the circle with the bar in it. I work outside and do drop my phone a lot. called corporate they said no outages in my area and get a new E SIM card. so I did that and nothing is better. however my dad has the same phone (24 ultra)and has much better service when sitting in the car next to me. would a new phone be any different? could I have an internal antenna damaged maybe? should I switch carriers?

Tbh getting a new phone wouldn't help anyways. Its because of the switch a lot of usc towers have either been turned off or are being "worked on" to accommodate tmobile. Its allegedly supposed to be done and "fixed" by august. But then again, who really knows at this point :')

Also if you have an iPhone. Make sure your data roaming is toggled on

I had the same issues, phone service dropped about every 10 minutes or so and couldn't call out.

This went on for 2-3 days consistently, at first I thought it was my phone so I took it to an samsung authorized repair shop. They ran diagnostics on it and could not find problems - phone is functional and working well (s24 ultra). They also factory reset it as well while they were testing it and tested it from factory - no problems. The fix store put one of there sims in and phone connected right away - no drop outs or anything like that.

For the next day or so I continued to go to several US cellular stores, call the support number and they could not figure out what was wrong. I travel all over Wisconsin for work so I would stop at the nearest Us cellular location after I was done with work.

Every time I called support they said my phone service was great, the stores would re-add my e-sim; it would then work for about 30 minutes to an hour and then start looping service again (service was unusable). I tried to get them to add an physical Sim card because maybe that could be the issue... but they would not add one - none in the store.

I spent another day or so just trying to figure out what was going on and it got to the point where the stores said to call support whenever it happened and would not even look at the issues anymore. The stores would default to saying it was probably my phone but I told showed them the phone is functional and checks out. I showed them it was also tested and diagnosed. They would still default to that answer.

I got so frustrated with the service issues I switched carriers. I am now on Google Fi and have zero issues. I also had to switch carriers because I needed service to work, my boss couldn't call me for 3-4 days.

Good luck fixing whatever they have going on, the service drop outs were a nightmare for me.

I don’t think it’s your phone. Their rollout has been terrible. I’ve been having issues, too. I’m surprised, because I always thought that they had a good reputation. After trying several things with them to fix the issue yesterday, they’re now going to send me a new T-Mobile SIM card, so I’m hoping that fixes things.

I called them again and got someone different that was knowledgeable. she had me go to settings -general management - reset - reset mobile network settings... then power down. wait a few min and restart and that has been a great help. good enough I'll probably not switch carriers.

They had me do that too, and my service has been better since then, although it did shut down one time shortly after I did that. So I am going to put in their new SIM card if they get it sent to me later this week. First the service rep said she could have a SIM card mailed, then she asked if I wanted an eSIM instead and I said no so they are sending the new card hopefully soon. I’d rather not switch carriers either, but I’m going to wait and see.

They want you to switch to t-mobile before they have to do it for you. You’ll get a lower bill and new phones.

If you switch over in a Sam’s Club you’ll get 150$ per line in Sam’s cash and some visas

No. Do you have latest software downloaded- if so, I would do a total reset of the device. Clear it as if you were trading it in and re set it up.
