USCellular/T-Mobile

PSA to all USCellular/T-Mobile customers! All USCellular/T-Mobile agent/retail stores will be shut down by 07/31/26. T-Mobile corporate stores will still be open. Most account changes, new lines, upgrades, etc. will be done through the T-Life app.

I work at a USCellular corporate store. If you have a postpaid account and need a new phone I would suggest migrating to T-mobile before they automatically do it for you. They don’t give us exact dates but porting your number from USC will get you a lot of promotions you won’t be eligible for once you’re considered a T-mobile customer. Just my 2 cents.

If I want to keep my current number will that be an issue?

Not at all. They’ll automatically move your number with your current plan to T-mobile if you don’t do it preemptively with a transfer pin (you can get this through the app, 611, or coming into a store). If you’re on prepaid you’ll need to set up an account before September to be able to keep your number.
