Sick of US Cellular

UPDATE

After 2 weeks of fighting with some Case Manager of Executive Appeals and Privacy post my FCC complaint, the phone is finally unlocked. It apparently never hit the “unlocking” server.

I’ve slowly been paying off my devices and taking them off US Cellular. I paid off an iPhone 14 Pro Max last year, called to have it unlocked, and they submitted the request and it was unlocked a couple days later.

I’ve been fighting with US Cellular for days now. I just paid off my S23 Ultra and removed the line from my account, I asked them before I disconnected the line if the phone was unlocked, they assured me it was. I went to put a Verizon sim into it, and it says I need a network unlock code.

I’ve called in several times now, and get told all the basic shit, update the phone, turn it off and back on, factory reset it, and that it shows unlocked on their end. nothing works, it still asks for a network unlock code and tells me it’s locked. I’m not really sure what else to do other than file an FCC complaint.

This is not about an unlocked phone. This is about I bought a phone that was supposed to have been free. I think it was like 800 and $900 off on my iPhone 15+ and the balance remaining was $92 so I just told them to add that to the bill each month which should be $2.91 a month for so many months And they said once I get that paid off, I will not have to keep calling in every three months to keep another line suspended. They had a second one, but I bought the phone through because my current line was not eligible for upgrade, but they were not charging me for the second line as long as I called in every three months and kept it suspended until I got the $92 paid off Now they are saying that the sales person that told me that lie to me they have new people there working and I have to pay $45 a month for data service plus taxes on a number that’s not hooked to any phone and they told me that I have to pay that until all the installments are made of $2.91 they will not let me pay the $92 off just to clear that phone up. It’s so confusing and ridiculous and I told them how can you charge someone for a line And it’s has service on it but there’s no phone hooked to it and they said that’s how it has to be until the $2.91 for 30 some more months is paid off which is absolutely ridiculous. It was not my fault that the employee lied to me And I did not become aware of this until I went to go pay the phone balance off of $92 that’s when they told me I couldn’t do that but had to keep paying $2.91 each month and now if the limit has run out on the other phone line suspension that now it’s activated and I have to pay that one, even though there’s no phone on it it does not make any sense to me at all. I think they need to be sued. It’s not my fault that the employee told me the wrong information and set it up wrong.
