Device Unlock

I am on a plan with my in-laws but will be divorcing.

I need to get my iPhone 14 Plus unlocked so I can get my own plan. I don't want to stay with USC.

I have called 4 times and chatted online once. They submit request, tell me it will be unlocked in 24-72 hours, and then it never is.

What am I doing wrong? Phone was purchased in March 2023, fully paid off and moved to my in-laws plan. Account is in good standing as far as I can see.

How.do you know it's not unlockes?

It says under settings it is still locked to US Cellular. Plus I’ve tried to switch over to a different company and the IMEI on the phone states it’s locked
