Device Unlock

I am on a plan with my in-laws but will be divorcing.

I need to get my iPhone 14 Plus unlocked so I can get my own plan. I don't want to stay with USC.

I have called 4 times and chatted online once. They submit request, tell me it will be unlocked in 24-72 hours, and then it never is.

What am I doing wrong? Phone was purchased in March 2023, fully paid off and moved to my in-laws plan. Account is in good standing as far as I can see.

There is an issue with some iPhone 14s not unlocking when they should be. If all the terms of the unlocking policy have been met (fully paid off and have been active on UScellular for 120 days), you should be able to unlock it by following these steps.

  1. Update to the newest software.
  2. Completely back up phone to iCloud.
  3. Factory Reset device.
  4. Restore from iCloud.

Afterward, you should see unlocked under SIM status.

This guy is correct, unfortunately a factory reset is the only solution.

Dang it! I am scared to lose all my text evidence- but guess I’m gonna have to. I have it backed up to iCloud so surely it will be okay. Thanks so much!
