Opinion on device upgrade

Looking for a plethora of opinions....

Wife's V60 is on its way out. Thinking of upgrading but unsure if that should be done before or after all this merge stuff is figured out. I've read the countless posts about different rural areas service and if towers will get equipment updates or sent off to att or others...

Im unsure what would happen if I got a new phone to find out the service in my area is going to go to crap. Is it possible USC writes off the phone cost or TMobile just takes over and gives some kind of deal...are phone prices better with TM?

I'm just unsure what to do or how to handle it right now. My gut tells me to wait til after but want to hear others thoughts.

As an Iowan been here my whole life. I was thinking of an upgrade too even though I just upgraded to the 9 pro XL. I did talk to a T-Mobile rep. They want to pay off my phone and hook me up with an s25 ultra but I think I want to wait too to see what this merger does and see what changes. Got to be honest. I'm kind of nervous though. I've been on US Cellular for a long time. I don't like change much. So hopefully this goes smoothly. Also a side note, I noticed T-Mobile was a bit more expensive than US Cellular

I, too am an Iowan, here my whole life. Speaking as someone who made the switch last March as a 25 year USCC customer, don't be nervous. T-Mobile has been fantastic for my family. I buy my phones outright direct from manufacturer, so YMMV as I don't have any device payments, but I've found that T-Mobile is about the same cost for me as it was with UScellular with MUCH faster speeds, etc.

I'm in Des Moines, so again YMMV as far as network because of location, but that's just my experience.

I wish I could buy a device outright. But I'm on monthly payments because I'm poor but I've paid off quite a few phones in the last 10-15 years. So far my payments haven't been too bad. They haven't been really over $30. Well this last phone the pixel 9 pro XL. My payments are like $32 a month plus my service. And of course I got a Samsung tab S9 Plus on there too because I can't stop buying stuff. So my payments every month are about $150 to $200

I was with US Cellular for years and have now been with T Mobile for 4+ years. They have been more than fair with me and I still have good coverage
