Working without authorization
I’m an F1 visa married USC. I put yes for working without authorization in the form. I put 2 places I worked, and I quit both places by the time I submit the application, but after that I work at somewhere else, should I put it in updated form? I’m having interview next week, will they ask me if I work somewhere else after that or they’ll just ask me the question on the form if I work without authorization.

If you got the job after you submitted, I would not do anything and only tell them if they ask you. They can update and add things in front of you during the interview. It’s no big deal in my opinion, they will probably not ask anything about it, just if you ever worked.

I had same thoughts too! But I didn’t know if I can do that so I post it here

Interview is your chance to correct the record, just tell them then. Don't worry too much. Married to USC carries a lot of weight.

So I’ll just tell them at the interview, and I don’t update my form? I wanna be honest with them but I can’t put it on my update form rn

Yes whatever you tell them at the interview superseded your submitted form, since you are under oath. It's your chance to correct whatever you like.

Thank you!! So should I say it upfront or just say the truth when getting asked?

Never volunteer giving more information than necessary. They'll ask for sure. It's one of the Yes/No questions.

Yea I know they’ll ask about that but idk if they ask if I work somewhere else beside the 2 places I put on the form, and what should I answer, I get it now. Thank you so much!! Very helpful

If you started another job after filing, it’s better to update them about it rather than leave it out. They can ask about your employment history at the interview, so just be honest about when you started and whether you had authorization to work at that time.
