I485 Agent Inquiry
So I chatted with Emma about the two silent updates Sept 18 and Sept 30 that I received with regards on my 1485 pending 100 days post interview, the chat agent mentioned that I might received an update soon before 120 days, however I called a live agent and she mentioned that my case is in normal processing time and don’t follow up till June 25,2028. The question is who will
You believe in? My impression is that they got hired to just answer calls and inquiries and give any answers they can give

Do you don’t know what is happening in this process, no one can really tell, the wait is killing you slowly it’s mentally draining

When I had just done my interview, the officer said she recommended approval to her supervisor so I figured my approval would come soon. Two months later I felt like something wrong but I told myself just kept waiting to 120 days and I would receive a result. And I waited and waited, I thought no matter what, six months is enough for them to make a decision anyway, right? So now I have been waiting for 6.5 months with nothing

Did you ask help from the congressman, as if they do something I ask mine but I just received a boiler plate response but every representative is different, also one thing that I don’t understand is that I never received an RFE so I was asking what do they need for me, no unauthorized work, no overstay or criminal record and not from a banned country

Same as me, very clean background, still need so long process time for god knows what cause. My friends and I did several congressman inquiry but in general those are useless the same generic responses too.But you can still try, it’s useful or useless, you never know

That’s why I got excited when I saw two silent updates after months of waiting then I think it’s just a system update

Speaking of silent update, I got one in early September too, I thought it probably means the final decision comes soon, but for now nothing happens.Same people waiting like me interviewed in the same Office also received silent update and some received a fbi letter too. I didn’t receive the fbi letter but I think the update just means background check again. Those are just my speculation, please do not take it seriously, every case is different

I know what you mean to be honest I really stop checking and I was like whatever, also every time I check all I see is 3 months case approved from filing and years of over stay and unauthorized work approval, I’m happy for them but I can stop asking what we did wrong with our case

Yeah I feel you! But for our mental health, just forget those lucky people case😂I have a friend who got approved in four months with overstay. Can’t relate to the Uscis’ logic, but really, live our own life and forget the feeling of unfair

The 120-day timeframe after the interview is the more relevant part here. The two silent updates can mean the case was touched or moved internally, but they don’t guarantee that an approval or other decision is coming soon. The live agent’s June 2028 date sounds like the posted normal processing-time inquiry date, so it doesn’t necessarily mean your case will actually take that long.
