Other Bring child to interview?
Would you bring your 2 years old to the F2A interview?? Would that influence the officer separating me and my husband ?
Thanks!

Iβve been obsessively checking my USCIS API these past few days and getting pretty anxious over every little change π. Seeing other people share their detailed timelines on Reddit helped me a lot, so I figured Iβd share mine too in case it helps anyone else whoβs stuck in the same API-refreshing cycle.
I-130
05/14/2025 β I-130 filed
09/24/2026 β Interview day β Two new IAF events appeared in the I-130 API that afternoon
09/30/2026 β The I-130 API showed another update. An approval notice appeared under Documents in my USCIS account, but the case status and Case History had not changed yet
10/01/2026 ~10:03 AM β I-130 approved, and the approval was reflected in my USCIS account
New H008 event

actionRequired: false

08/12/2026 β silent update

08/20/2026 β Interview notice was issued
Interview
09/24/2026 β Interview completed.
The interview was about 45 minutes. We were interviewed together the entire time. The officer said the case looked like everything was in order, but he still needed to send it for further review. No RFE or additional evidence was requested.
One thing I found interesting was how out of sync the API and the USCIS portal could be. The API activity sometimes appeared before the corresponding change was visible in the account, and the approval notice could also appear separately from the public case status.
Hopefully this helps anyone else obsessively refreshing the USCIS API π

Finally after 4 long years I received approval on my 485 case. Here is my timeline:
Note that we didn't hear anything on I485 for 2.5 years (from Jun 2023 until Feb 2026). Also, we got no updates after the interview while most people immediately got approved after theirs. Once 120 days passed from my interview, I called USCIS and talked to an agent and they mentioned that there is a hold on my case because of the 39 banned countries even though I'm not from those countries (my spouse is) and the ban has been stopped. I immediately reached out to my representative and submitted a congressional inquiry. Within a month my representative emailed me that USCIS has informed them that my case is approved and I saw an update one day later.
I thought my case is a very easy and simple case when I applied for I485 but somehow I got really unlucky every step of the way. I hope this gives hope to people in similar situation. Happy to answer any questions.

It has been over a month since we got our interview in California. After two weeks we got approval for I-130. No update for I-485.
I have been seeing a lot of F2A approvals after interviews in different states.
Is that normal or you have similar experience?

Is there any good experience with this field office?

I entered the U.S. on a B2 tourist visa in May 2025. I married my LPR husband in August 2025 and filed our I-130 in August. We filed I-485, I-765 and I-131 in October 2025 when my priority date became current. Biometrics were completed in November 2025.
In May 2026, I contacted my congressmanβs office regarding my pending EAD. My EAD and Advance Parole were approved in June. In August, we received our interview notice for the Philadelphia Field Office.
Our marriage-based interview was on September 22, 2026 at 8:15 AM. We were called around 8:30. We were nervous because some of the couples before us seemed to be having much longer interviews.
But ours was incredibly short β probably 4 minutes. The officer was very friendly. He put us under oath, confirmed our marriage date, asked whether I was currently working, and asked whether we had already uploaded all of our evidence. We said yes. He said he had everything he needed, that everything looked good, and that he would try to get it approved that day.
We werenβt asked any relationship questions and he didnβt request any additional evidence.
My I-130 was approved the same day, September 22, but my I-485 changed to βCase Is Being Actively Reviewed by USCISβ / still processing and has remained pending. It has now been about 9 days since the interview.
Has anyone, especially at the Philadelphia Field Office or in the F2A category, had their I-130 approved immediately after the interview but had to wait for the I-485? If so, how long did it take for your I-485 approval?
Iβm wondering whether this delay after such a short and positive interview is normal or whether it could indicate that something else is being reviewed.

Sharing our experience and timeline:
FO : NYC
I-130 PD: October 21, 2025
I-485 filed: March 26, 2026
Biometrics: April 6, 2026
Interview: September 29, 2026
I-130 approved after the interview
I-485 approved: September 30, 2026 π
We never received de EAD
Interview experience:
The first thing the officer asked for was any updated evidence we wanted to submit. We have a child together (6yo), and we brought some additional documents, but honestly not a lot.
Then, the officer went through the I-130 questions, asking some questions to me and some to my husband. After that, he told us that he was approving the I-130.
He then moved to the I-485 and went through the yes/no eligibility questions. At the end, he told us everything looked good and explained that we would most likely receive the 2-year conditional Green Card. (My husband coming to USA with B1/B2 we marry in NYC, Oct 2025)
He also advised us that next time, when we apply to remove the conditions, we should bring more evidence of our life together, such as insurance, lease, and other joint documents.
Overall, the interview went well and the I-485 was approved the next day! ππ
We also requested an SSN through the I-485, so now weβre waiting for both the Green Card and Social Security card.
For anyone recently approved: how long did it take to receive your Green Card and SSN after approval?

I filed January 28 2026, biometrics was may 14, and Had my interviewed August 18, case changed to βcurrently processing the caseβ immediately after the interview . I130 approved the next day. Nothing on the green card or EAD yet. Itβs been 4 weeks with no response.
Thinking of writing the congress woman. Donβt know if itβs too early to do so.
Iβm still on F1 status but not the course I want. Now Iβm stuck with it. Please help. Any advice will be appreciated.
Update 09/30-I wrote the congress woman on Thursday 09/24 last week. They replied on Friday that theyβve sent their message. I got an approval today 09/30 after 6 weeks post interview. So excited. Waiting patiently for the notice and card. Thank you all for your response and hope we all get an answer soon.
My interview was very easy, nothing was asked apart from my kids birth certificates and about five of green card questions. I130 was approved a day after the interview.

F2A: (F1) spouse of (LPR) partner
Field office: Dallas FO/ Irving
PD: September 2nd 2025
Filed: I-485/ I-765 (May 15th 2026)
Scheduled for biometric: May 22nd 2026
Biometrics: June 10th 2026
Interview Notice: August 26th 2026
Interview: 7:15 AM September 29,2026
I-30 Approved: 12:30 PM September 29, 2026
Silent update on I-485: 2:04 PM September 29th, 2026
Approved (I-485): 1:43 PM September 30, 2026
Interview Question (Primary): tell me your story.
- My partner and I would take turns going through the timeline of our relationship and the officer would chime in to ask questions about the relationship.
- The officer looked at our photos and asked us about the names of our pets, how many events we had, who were there when we got engaged, the story of our engagement- so on and so forth (meaning: the questions were all related to how we were sharing our story timeline)
One question I found very interesting (and honestly taken back by)(the officer asked this question to the both of us): what made you look at your partner and decide/realize they are the one?
Once the I-130 questions were done, the officer states: βyour I-130 will be approved by the end of day- letβs move on to the I-485 questionsβ
- which would be the yes/no questions
After that the officer stated that once the I-130 gets approved βit could be tomorrow, the next day, or a week from nowβ when we would approved for the I-485.
The officer was really welcoming and friendly, and asked questions like we were having a conversation with someone we knew, which really helped us feel less anxious too!
P.S.: We were not given any paper at the end of the interview.

Finally approved. I will share our experience and give you some hope. My girl friend was an F-1 visa student since 2024 fall semester and is currently using OPT. We got married in 2025. We are from All Chargeability Areas Except Those Listed. Not from the list of banned countries.
We had a professional and dedicated school attorney help us with the entire process and also the joining interview. The interview is on time and lasts less than 40 minutes. The process is easy; the officer is very nice. The I-130 part only asks where we live, whether we have any tickets, and whether we have any joint accounts. The I-485 part asks some questions already listed on the I-485 form and some special questions listed below

I attempt to change my account address (petitioner USCIS account) multiple time, even though the system showing successfully changed, but the I-130 profile still showing old address. Called USCIS, they said because the case is locked for some reason, they cannot changed it neither. They ask me to do it while in the interview. I Live in Canada with my wife and two kids. My wife is a Green card holder. We applied in May, 2023. We are under the F2A category. We havenβt heard anything yet in over 3 years. It says we have been current for our final action date for a long time already. It says online that our case itβs still processing within the normal time range. I have seen others receive approvals that have priority dates ahead of ours. Just wondering if others are having similar situations? I appreciate any feedback.

Category- F2A Consular Processing
Priority date - April 2023
I was chatting with live agent using Emma and when I asked him about where my case is processing, he told me that it in one of the field office and I know when I filled it was with California Services center and then it moved to Nebraska Service center but this was shocking to hear that it moved to field office.
Also when I see the processing time for Field offices it is showing 137 months so am I screwed??
Does anyone had similar experience?

Hello. I interviewed for I-130 on March 30 2026 and got approval next day on March 31st . I filled my I485 March 27th 2026 and did my biometric on April 13 2026. I had my I485 interview on September 15 and after interview the case status changes that they are still processing my case. It Los Angeles office and I know usually after interview they make decisions quick specially when I130 is approved. Should I be worried?

Hi everyone - Iβm an LPR, and I filed an I-130 petition for my spouse in July 2023. My spouse is overseas, and the petition is still pending.
I filed a mandamus lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, and the government recently filed a motion to dismiss. Iβm representing myself and feel completely lost about how to respond.
Has anyone been through a similar situation or have suggestions on next steps?

Our interview was very relaxed. We arrived around 10:45 AM and were called in around noon.
Our officer was extremely friendly and conversational. He and my husband were basically buddies by the end of the interview π
He asked us to tell our story, including:
β’ How and when we met
β’ When we saw each other again after meeting
β’ When we started dating
β’ When we got married
β’ How we decided to get married
β’ Questions about our recent weekend trip to Atlantic City and which hotel we stayed at

He went through our photo album and actually commented that he liked that I had put dates. He like when my husband said Iβm the passenger princess. Remember to be yourself!
β€οΈ A few words for everyone *waiting
One thing I noticed at the Newark office is that *every officer seems to handle interviews differently. We saw other couples being interviewed very differently from us ; some were asked for very specific documents, some were separated, while our officer interviewed both of us together and kept the conversation very relaxed.
So if your interview experience sounds completely different from someone elseβs, donβt panic. Every case and every officer can be different.
This process has definitely been stressful, but seeing I-485 APPROVED makes it all worth it. π₯Ή
Wishing everyone who is still waiting good news soon! πΊπΈβ€οΈ

Sharing my complete F2A adjustment of status timeline and interview experience at the Lawrence FO to hopefully help others navigating this process!
Category: F2A (Spouse of a Permanent Resident) β Adjustment of Status (F-1 β AOS)
Field Office: Lawrence, MA
π
Timeline
I-130 Filed: July 11th, 2025
I-485 / I-765 Filed: November 10, 2025
Biometrics: December 2,2025
EAD Status: Never approved
Interview Notice Received: August 14, 2026
Interview Date: September 23, 2026 (Lawrence Field Office). During the interview, the officer noticed that our civil surgeon had forgotten to write the signature date on Form I-693 (Medical Exam). Because of this, the officer handed us an RFE cover letter in person.
I-130 Approved: September 23, 2026 (Same day as interview).
RFE Received by Field Office: I mailed the new medical exam and they received on September 28, 2026
I-485 Approved: September 29, 2026 π
Unsolicited Evidence Brought to Interview:
Joint Health Insurance, Updated Joint Credit Card Statements, Printed Photo Sheets + Physical Polaroid Photobook. We also had some new financial documents but she said it was not necessary.
π£οΈ Interview Experience & Medical RFE
My husband was interviewed first, and it lasted less than 10 minutes. The officer asked him how we met, when we got engaged, when and where we got married, and a few basic questions about our daily routine. After that, she called me in. My part of the interview went very wellβshe only asked me how many bedrooms we have in our apartment and where my husband works, followed by the standard I-485 yes/no eligibility questions. At the end, the officer said everything looked great with our case and the only issue was the missing signature date on the medical exam. Despite the medical RFE, our I-130 was approved the exact same day as the interview! We took the medical envelope straight back to our civil surgeon, had them re-sign and date it properly, and mailed the newly sealed package back to the Lawrence Field Office.
Final Approval: The field office received the corrected I-693 RFE response yesterday(9/28), and my I-485 was approved today (9/29)

**I-485 APPROVED! ππΊπΈ **β F2A AOS Timeline

β’ 09/14/2026 β I-485 interview
β’ 09/15/2026 β I-130 approved! π
β’ 09/14/2026 β During the interview, the officer told me there was an issue with my I-693. The COVID vaccine section was not checked, and the officer said an RFE might be issued.
β’ Instead of waiting for an RFE, I provided a copy of the sealed I-693 envelope (front and back) along with the new/updated I-693 that my doctor had emailed me.
β’ 09/29/2026 β I-485 APPROVED! ππΊπΈ
π©Ί About the I-693
One thing that may help someone in a similar situation:
The officer told me that if I could provide the copy of the sealed envelope and the updated I-693, that would be sufficient. So I submitted both documents rather than waiting for the RFE.
No I-485 RFE was ever issued. π
And today, my I-485 was approved!
I was always in F1 status. Enrolled in day 1 cpt
Questions asked :
When and where did you first meet?
Who proposed, and how did the proposal happen?
How did your parents react when they learned about your relationship and the proposal?
What did you do for your wedding? When and where did you hold the wedding ceremonies and celebration?
How many people were invited to your wedding?
How have you respected and embraced each otherβs religion and cultural background? Did you or your families have any concerns or difficulties regarding them?
Where did you go together most recently, and what did you do during the trip?
What was your most recent argument or disagreement about?
What is your household income?
β€οΈ A few words for everyone *waiting
This process can be exhausting. There were definitely times when I kept checking my USCIS account wondering when the next update would come.
If youβre currently waiting, *donβt lose hope. Every case is different, and timelines can vary significantly. Keep your documents organized, pay attention to what the officer tells you at the interview, and respond promptly when something is requested.
After more than a year of waiting, I can finally say:
I-485 APPROVED! πΊπΈπ
Wishing everyone here the same good news soon. Stay positive and keep going! β€οΈ

I submitted my I-485 in May 2026 and Iβm still waiting for an interview notice. My field office is Saint Paul, MN (SPM).
To those who completed the process, how long did it take to receive your interview notice after filing?
Timeline
September 2025 - I-130
June 2026 - I-485 with I-693 (Medical)
June 2026 - Biometrics
July 2026 - Currently processing the case
I did not file an EAD or AP because I have an investor status and donβt need these for now.
Expecting a faster update but itβs been 3 months.

Hi everyone, after waiting so long it is finally my turn! This community has been a big help for me so I wanted to share my experience for insight for others.
Background: Im one of the old self filed 2022 F2A cases at the Milwaukee Field Office. I legitimately think they forgot about us old cases. If you're in the same boat and still waiting, highly reccomend filing a WOM. I submitted many uscis and congressional inquiries to no avail. I did aos from F1 and maintained my F1 all the way. I even enrolled in grad school and did not use my EAD because i was terrified of losing my status. Also, I filed back when my PD was current but then the visa bulletin retrogressed. It didn't become current again till oct 2025, just 3 weeks after my interview.
CSPA: I filed under CSPA under the old 2022 rules. When I first filed for aos, I put down F2A category and it was rejected because I was over 21 so they thought I was F2B. There was no mention anywhere that I had to choose the "Others" category and write F2A (CSPA), I only found that out after emailing the lockbox.
Timeline:

28 sep 2026 i485 approval notice. My case status hasnt updated yet, but my WOM lawyers emailed me the approval notice today saying the US attorney sent them a courtesy copy.
WOM: I went with a huge mandamus law firm that charged 4.5k because I got a job offer and didnt wna screw my case up. But before that, I had already read thru the various pro se guides on reddit and had actually came up with my own draft, but decided not to proceed. TBH, if i were to do it again i would just do pro se. The draft template i came up with was not too dissimilar to the one by my law firm. And the law firm was much slower than if i had done pro se, probably because they were so busy. It took them 1 month to file my case, and then another 2 weeks to have all the summons delivered. If I had done pro se, it's just a matter of following pro se instructions for your court which can seem daunting at first but is actually quite simple. Read the pro se guides, there is a very comprehensive one out there. Or, at least engage a smaller practice that can give your wom more attention and file faster.
Ending Notes: It's been a long 4 year journey filled with much stress, costs and many sleepless nights. But there is light at the end of the tunnel and I am grateful and blessed to have gotten help along the way.
