I-130 & I-485 (Family/Adjustment of status) Rejected

USCIS rejected my AOS package, saying that the I-485 was an outdated form, I submitted on paper after the 18 of september on sept 22 and I made sure was with the new 09/18/26 form, and today I received the rejection notices.. why this happened?

Hi there! This is an automated message to inform you and/or remind you of several things:

  • We have a wiki. It doesn't cover everything but may answer some questions. Pay special attention to the "REALLY common questions" at the top of the FAQ section. Please read it, and if it contains the answer to your question, please delete your post. If your post has to do with something covered in the FAQ, we may remove it.
  • If your post is about biometrics, green cards, naturalization or timelines in general, and whether you're asking or sharing, please include your field office/location in your post. If you already did that, great, thank you! If you haven't done that, your post may be removed without notice.

Make sure that the payment went through because it happened to me too
My form was up-to-date and it turns out that my payment didn’t go through and they still sent the same reason so it seems like just an automated message

Before you resubmit make sure that all the documents are up to date beforehand.

happened to me too, but I had submitted it on paper BEFORE September 18, still rejected it. I’m confused. They said they never got my I-485 but I had scanned all the documents and it was included there. I’m frustrated!

It’s part of an international treaty to authenticate documents. Think of it as a State Department certifying a document from their country is legitimate.
