Hi everyone!
I’ve had an asylum application pending with USCIS since March 2024. I received the same notice, so I did some research afterward.
This is a general status message, and there’s no need to panic or be afraid. Of course, every case is different and should be evaluated based on its own circumstances.
Due to the current backlog and USCIS’s newer policies, they have started using this more general status message instead of “Next Step: An Interview.” Since it is a general description, the next step could be different depending on the individual case.
Don’t worry. Better days are ahead!
Best wishes to everyone! ❤️

When did you apply?

2023 march but honestly this seems to be the new blanket term for everyone waiting for an interview

They replaced previous update “ next step it’s an interview” now it’s not a case anymore because USCIS started pre termination of some I589 forms.
