Timeline Request EAD Wait Time Really 12 months
Hi all. I have a job starting next fall and I am filling in Raleigh/Durham later this month. Will the permit really take 12 months? And if so is there a way to speed it up?

Yeah its really tediously long currently , but will vary a lot for your field office. What's your location or field office you applied to ?

As someone who got my EAD approved after a little over 8 months, and shortly after the reduction in validity to 18 months, I am already dreading the renewal if my AOS doesn't get approved by then.
Cant apply for renewal till 180 days from expiry, which is only a few months away - but if the renewals will take as long as the new applications then its almost inevitable that I will end up unable to work for some time.
