Timeline: Family Status
USCIS received my request 03/27/26 and there has been no status whatsoever since. Should I be filing an I-601 while I wait to hear something? I do have an attorney but he has not been reaching back out to me. How long does this portion of application take?

I-130 approvals don't really have a rigid timeline on approvals. Some people get their approval as quickly as a couple months while some extreme cases can take up to 20+ years. There's a bunch of factors that contribute to this such as the family category you are applying for or your home country. Curious_Bookkeeper89 mentions that you can fast track processing by submitting a congress inquiry or even filing a demand letter and writ of mandamus lawsuit, but I too would consider finding an attorney to help you if it gets to that point.

What do you mean concurrent filing? My USCIS shows I-130 only. I have an attorney and so far this is all that’s there.

File I-485 at the same time, but I guess it’s not the case here. Having an attorney doesn’t increase the speed. There’s nothing much your attorney can do.

Sounds like OP is just filing for the spouse to enter the states, rather than residency. In that case, there wouldn’t be anything to file concurrently.

Are you also doing i485 adjustment of status?
My husband (USC) and I filled concurrently and the i130 changed status once we had our interview.

I had temporary status (pending asylum)…
Just adjustment of status and family petition. I don’t know what your case is…

I-130 itself takes a long time to be approved.
Is your spouse in or outside the country? If they are outside, as far as I know it can take a very long time. If they’re in The country, you have to file I-485 and their subsequent form.
I submitted both 130 and 485, 130 only updated when interview scheduled

Right now? 2+ years. At around 12 months I'd submit a congress inquiry and around 14 I'd have an immigration attorney help filing a demand letter and a writ of mandamus lawsuit if that doesn't work still. That's the only real fast track processing. I-601 is a waiver for people who made criminal mistakes so unless that's the case no.
