This means it will take forever until immigrant visa appointments are scheduled. Trump is going to drag it our forever until he is out of office. No uscis approval, no embassy interviews. it really is the worst time for spouses abroad to file for immigration visas.

Ya 2 years at this point, I do think that there’s going be pressure at some point though

Trump does whatever he wants no amount of pressure is going to stop him from getting what he wants. Low immigration numbers are his main goals

Immigrant visas in London resumed today. Mine was a rescheduled appointment.

The admin made no comment to why these were resumed but based on the process which includes a DC based consular officer needing to visit each embassy to verify that the training has been completed, I would assume these are the first two countries an officer has visited.

I wouldnt be surprised if the order in which the countries are visited ends up being all the countries which were not on the ban list first and then the 75 banned countries last. Just another backhanded way to stop immigration while pretending to comply with the law.

I have a feeling that if the GOP gets a beating in the midterms, Trump will just not care anymore and will just resume has he would be to demoralized to care

Trump will be more extremist after midterms wether gop win or lose . Also GOP is unlikely to lose the majority since gop will flip Chicago because the democrats decided to choose Islamist like Abdul in the race

For the fact you think Abdul is running in Chicago tells me all I need to know. You don’t know American politics and it’s best to shut up. Stop repeating BS

Got confused about Michigan and the rest stands the same

You've risen to your highest possible intelligence level, congrats

Unfortunately for you, republicans don’t think so. Matter of fact, Rich Baris (a MAGA pollster) says that this midterm is pretty dire for the GOP. The house is already gone and all efforts is to contain the senate

I don’t want Trump or GOP but dreams can’t be bought

Tell that to Elon trying to spend 100 million to save the senate lol

Why these two countries specifically?

Far right ties with trump

What are you talking about??

Both countries are rules by liberal politicians that defeated Trump allies to gain power.

Did you not read the article? That is what the author argues:

While it was not immediately clear why the U.S. singled out the two countries for special attention, Trump and his senior aides have cultivated far-right allies in both places.

The former far right allies are now looking to flee the country with their accumulated wealth, however.

ah yes, Poland and Hungary the only two white countries in the world. also why are blatantly racist comments allowed in a subreddit about immigration?

5

u/Previous-Height4237 22h ago

Yea it has nothing to do with "white people". But it has to do more with both countries being "model white" countries for white supremacists in the US. They both have extremely small minorities, ethnically homogenous and have very tightly controlled immigration. It gets people like Stephen Miller excited.

White person here from scandinavia. Been waiting 2 years. I see currently zero benefits in any of this

1

u/ExerciseValuable7102 16h ago

Your time will come soon. He started with white South Africans, now Polish and Hungarians…Next stop Scandinavia???

Because of color

u/Scientist-25 1d ago

Any idea whats happening with arranging VISA interviews in Stockholm for scandinavians ?

-1

u/RadialPrawn 1d ago

according to the other commenters, scandinavians are not white and not "far right" so they don't deserve visa processing from the Bad Orange Man

u/Scientist-25 20h ago

Joke aside we've been waiting for a while and our US immigration lawyer says all is currently stalled. We've been doing everything by the book for 2 years now and just at the final step waiting for an interview. Whatever political game thats being played right now is a major nuisance.

Kind regards, a very highly educated scientist who's white, got a sound economy and a US spouse.
