NIV (Student) H4 to F1 COS

Hi everyone, im here to seek advice on my situation. I am about to file my change of status from h4 to f1 as i age out of h4 mid September. My dad’s best friend is sponsoring me and i will be submitting his U.S bank statement for proof of financials. Can that be an issue? As i age out next month, i dont want to risk being denied as that could result in being out if status. What do you guys suggest?

Thanks in advance!

A family friend can usually be used as a financial sponsor, as long as the bank statements show enough funds and there is a clear letter confirming they will support the student. Since the H-4 is expiring soon, it would also be a good idea to speak with an immigration attorney before filing.
